About me

Hi there!

My name is Pep Pont i Domínguez and I am a professional designer with an eclectic background, with experiences across a variety of projects and places. I have mainly been involved with furniture and retail design projects, but also other product projects, as well as interiors, exhibition, graphic design, public space, POP advertising… I have studied and worked in different cities and cultural environments and in several languages. So I have acquired a wide range of knowledge and skills, which enables me to work in diverse situations and under various levels of pressure.

At University, I collaborated on design projects with companies such as Ikea Sweden, CETELEM Bank or Molderdisnova. I had the opportunity to spend my last year in Tecnische Universiteit of Delft (The Netherlands). During this period, I was awarded, together with my group, an Honourable Mention in cDIM awards 2003 for Aplec, and we also carried out the project Orange Bud, which received the 1st Prize in the same contest in 2004. Afterwards, we were also selected to present the project Transrural.05 in València Furniture Design Show.

After graduating in Industrial Design Engineering in Universitat Politècnica de València, I attended a Masters in Public Space in Elisava Escola Superior de Disseny of Barcelona, where I investigated and developed some projects about space and a project for the exhibition area of Saló Nàutic (Nautical Show) in Barcelona. After attaining my degree, I worked for one year with Studio Cerri&Associati in Milan on several projects of product design for companies including iGuzzini, Poltrona Frau, Desalto or Muvis. Once again in Barcelona, I worked for Bundó Display developing POP advertising and displays for brands like Canon, Amstel, Loewe, Mattel, GlaxoSmithKline and many others.

During my period in London I worked for Michael Sodeau Partnership and I was involved with projects of product and furniture with companies such as Modus, Suikosha or Offecct. In addition, I participated in projects of exhibition and interiors design. On the other hand, I was able to further my studies in packaging design in Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London).

Once back in València I started my experience in retail design. As responsible of the Design Department in Zora I developed furniture and interior projects of stores, shop-in-shops and franchises. From the creative process and technical phases to project management; with clients like La Perla, Mezlan, Vanity Fair, Nike, Adidas, etc. During that time I was also learning about community management and I became member of ADCV (Valencian Designers Association).
My most recent experience is as Build Project Manager at Jeff, within the Retail Department, where I have contributed to the global expansion of the company with the construction management of the new franchises.

I am skilled in the most common design software: Rhinoceros, Autocad, Solidworks, 3Dstudio, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign… I am bilingual Catalan-Spanish and I have a very good level as much in English as in Italian, besides a mid level of French. Due to my current position I am very used to travel and attend meetings in different countries and languages.

Nowadays I do my best to balance all this with personal curiosities and projects from València.
